Brittany's teeny tiny reef!

Alright ladys and gents! I stuck a aqua clear 70 on the tank with carbon to get the water clear. I was just gonna do a 30 but they were 25% off! So I got a 70 so I can turn it into a fuge in the future. This is how the tank looks right now.

I hope it clears up at least a little by morning bc I'm meeting up with Valasaraptor for a red banded goby! Yay! I'm so excited for my fishie! I had to turn off one of the powerheads bc this filter makes so much flow on its own. I might have to move the brain c the one side looks a little flat bc of the flow. Maybe it will get used to it though.

great, that should really help! looks forward to seeing how things are in a day or two. hopefully with proper changes, you can avoid having a skimmer involved on such a small tank. good luck!

Update: Cody and I met up with Valasaraptor today and traded some zoas and he gave me a high fin red banded goby. Here's a pic of my hubby holding mango. He is Valasaraptors scarlet macaw :) the goby is hiding right now but as soon as he comes out i'll post a pic!

Unfortunately no not really. It's slightly less cloudy but by no means clear...idk what to do. I don't really want to add any products to it but maybe that's the only option?

Nope none of the sand moves. I had some of the tank water in a bag today and it looked kinda dingy yellowish. Even with the carbon running.

Bc I don't have the money for an rodi unit and I don't really wanna lug jugs back and forth from the store. My 29g is perfectly fine and the ten gallon has the same water, same salt mix. Everything is the same so idk why the 10g is cloudy like this. The 29g never was.

Different tank, different situation. Clearly something is feeding the bacteria/algae bloom you have going on in there. My bet is the tap water

Could it be the black sand Britt? It made my fluval cloudy for quite a while, even running a HOB.

I'm gonna have to agree with lil fish on this one brittany...just try it and see if that would help clear it up, it can't hurt, and if it doesn't clear the water, at least you'll know for a fact that's not the issue. Just one 5 gal water change will be able to tell you. :)

I have black sand too, and I never had that problem. Don't think it's the sand. I would try the RO/DI or distilled, just 3-5 gallons, and see if it makes a difference. At least then you'll know..........

I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow or Tuesday so maybe ill pick up a jug and try it out. But idk, for some reason I don't think that's it.

Hey that bird looks familiar lol..........hope you enjoyed today I did,by chance do you have one of those water and ice makers on your fridge? mine did and the TDS wa verrry low i cant remember what it was exactly but i used the water from that with no problem its filtered very well and i just hooked an airline to it and propped it on.....just dont forget about it and have a flood like i did hahah
