Parrot's 150 Long

All I can say is AWESOME!!!! I seriously hope things go better for you with this stand LOL you deserve it!

You did remember the foam this time around right ??? LOL

Burch, HAHA - YES, I did remember the foam! I almost didn't put the plywood under the foam - I was debating if I needed the foam AND plywood over the stand. But I ended up putting both down, figure it can't hurt.

Buddy, yeah, it's probably just under 1000 lbs empty. Ridiculous!

Today I got the sump and scrubber box to a place called "Hole Specialists" - and they didn't have the equipment to do it!! But they referred me to a machinist in this industrial park and he's going to drill it. Hopefully it doesn't crack!! Upgrading the 1 1/8" holes in the scrubber box to a 2 3/8" hole, so it can handle the flow of the mag 7. (will be a 1.5" drain now)

Then plumbing the basement water reservoir into the first floor, where a 2-stage auto top off valve will activate the basement mag7 to top off!

i wouldnt trust my floor to hold that sort of weight, im sure it will weigh over a ton after all is said and done. im anxious to see you start stocking it

I'm going to be bracing the floor joists with two columns, so it should be able to take it. (I hope)

Yeah, stocking it is going to be fun! I want 3 convict tangs, a magnificent foxface, and a longspine urchin at a minimum. And a talbot demoiselle

that sounds like a project itself, post some pictures when you add in the columns. how many lbs of rock and sand are you adding in there?

Only about 120 lbs of rock and 120 lbs of sand.

No more progress on the scrubber, it won't be done at the machinist for a week. I told the guy no rush, since I'll be busy plumbing the rest of the stuff first. I think I've got it sorted out, though, and the PVC stand for the LED grow lights seems to be pretty solid.

"hole specialists" thats what she said.

Lol, everytime I drive by the hole specialist sign I crack up!! I'll def put up pics of the beam install. Once everything is plumbed I'll do a video too.

Ok, so got a lot of plumbing done so far!
I think I'm going to throw up from breathing in fumes, though.

I'm using flex PVC on both the return and drain lines. Hopefully that works out alright.

Here's some pics!

I think I made the return too high! It looks like bull horns! I might end up cutting it and redoing the return, but we'll see. I was thinking of mounting a pot in front of them for mangroves, so that could hide it....it was too tight a space to put that T below the return. I had already glued the 45's the angle up on, anticipating it fitting (I did do a dry run) but it turned out to be a bit too tight so I raised it up.

Should I teflon paste the threaded unions inside the true union valves?

i think id re do it... you have such a nice tank and it would look better, if you don't like it in the future i think you would really be regretting it.

I'm not redoing it until at least after I water test it - it's really easy to replace, just chop off the pvc and reglue. But yeah, we'll see....hmmmm.
