Brittany's teeny tiny reef!

Thanks guys! Chichi its mostly epoxied. The very tops of the arches are just wedged in there. But they are pushing up against the middle peice so they are stable. I'm only gonna have the mandarin and the tiny goby in there so I'm not worried about them disturbing it.

I'm really excited. I want this tank to clear up so bad! If a couple more water changes is all it needs I will be soo happy. I do want a skimmer but if I don't need it ill save the money for corals!

Oliver is a pretty boy . When r u and hubby going to come down here and check out the wildlife? My sister and brother in law ( from Marcellus) r moving down here the end of the month. She is saying goodbye to the snowbelt lol

It looks awesome!

I don't think I would be as brave as you setting up such a small tank. It would be very cool and all but I would be worried about stability.

Hottuna I wish I could come down there! I hate new York! Lol but this years winter was very mild thank god.

Mark it can be a little scary but once you get on a schedule on when and how much to top off and once a week water changes, its actually pretty easy. You just have to be super diligent on checking on the tank making sure everyone is alive and well. Making sure the salinity is in check. You have to pay attention the tank every single day. You can't get away with just leaving it for a week or you will have some things out of wack. I don't mind it though. Lets just say I always have something to do. I have three tanks now so one of them needs something Haha. My fresh tank is in need of a water change actually. Time to get out the automatic water changer!

Thanks for asking Justin! I did another four gallon water change today. That is a total of three four gallon water changes since its been cloudy. This is what it looked like before I left for work. Better but not much I don't think. 100% of the water has been changed out with these water changes. Idk what the deal is. If it doesn't clear up in a few more days maybe a week then I will most likely get a protein skimmer. This is so frustrating. I want to look at a clear tank. :( its doesn't help that I am a very impatient person.

Still a little cloudy, but it is still such a lovely tank. Are you still using the distilled for the water changes or have you decided it wasn't your tap water causing the issue?

That is so strange that it hasn't cleared up! You are sure it's not algae on the glass? Sometimes those magnetic cleaners don't quite get all the scum off and it makes it look like the water is cloudy. When you take the water out and put it in like a glass pyrex bowl does it look cloudy? (sorry if you have tried all this, just really wishing your tank was clear!)

Yea I stopped using distilled water. It wasn't really making it any better so I ruled that out.

No algae on the glass. I make sure its wiped clean every couple days. I haven't tried looking at it in a pyrex bowl. I did have some water in a bag but that was a week or so ago. When I drained the water into the bucket for the first water change the water was very green, now it is only slightly green. But I would think since I changed 4-5 gallons on Monday and then another 4-5 gallons today. It would really be clear. Maybe it clearned up while ive been at work. I haven't been home yet to see. I'll try putting some water in a bowl and seeing what it looks like. I'll take a picture too.

Here is what it looks like now after work. Pictures before were taken around 2:15 today and these were taken now.

I'm starting to think that maybe your rocks are leeching out nutrients, which is why you're dealing with this issue for so long. Are you running carbon to help clear the water?
