Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

yeah. Enough about anthias. How about a Sohal? looks like you have TONS of room. It is almost limitless the amount of fish you have. Make sure your parameters are good for a few days and go for a Signature Fish. I like the pinktail trigger, but I think you could find something else that is also big and beautiful

Wow, your tank looks great, you all make me jealous.

I have to ask about those scratches, are they on outside of the tank or inside? If the majority of the hazing and scratching is on the outside, you might want to try quadruple grade #0000 steel wool to sort of 'sand' them out. Just wash the area first with a vinegar/water mix in a spray bottle, using a microfiber cloth (they don't smear or streak) and make sure it's completely DRY before trying the steel wool. #0000 grade is extremely soft, it should not scratch your tank in any way. Just to be safe though, try it on a inconspicuous part of your tank, perhaps in one of the corners or maybe one of the side panels. Try it on a haze/scratched portion.

If you really want to make a quick comparision, get some blue painters tape and tape off a rectangle, big enough to seperate it into halves with another strip of tape. Simply scrub one half in circular motions with the steel wool. If you have a PC light sitting around, flourescent light works real well in highlighting imperfections on the surface, you can use it to check your work, to determine wether you really want to sand the entire surface of the tank inch by inch or not.

Sorry to go on for a bit there, but maybe it's worth a shot.

Unfortunately, all the scratches are on the inside :( I bought the tank used for $100, so I couldn't pass up a deal like that, even though it was horribly scratched up. I really don't know what the people were doing to it to make it that bad.

It's hard to see the scratches in person, but they really show up in the pictures, unfortunately. I hate not being able to get good pics. I can buy a waterproof case for my digital camera, and I might do that and start taking pics from inside the tank.

ouch. I am sorry for that bad order. Hope you have better luck getting your stuff next time

What do you mean 3 of 11?I know some were on back order and some died in transit. Some didn't die in your tank, did it?Whew,I think I'm full now, back to corals after the holidays.

That sucks, after the fish goes in the tank,a guarantee is worthless if you have to send the body back. The nassarius would finish it off and I would be sending back tiny little bones.

I know I said this a hundred times already-I talked to CS from liveaquaria, they don't require pics or sending back the dead specimens to get your money back.Just to let you know, they have dispars and sunsets in stock.

Three anthias a pitiful school does make. So I went to my LFS today and had them order me 2 bicolors, 2 sunsets and 2 dispars. If all goes as planned, I'll have 9 anthias total.

They were having a 40% off of all SPS colonies sale. I BROKE DOWN UNDER THE PRESSURE! I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF!

I got a green acro:

A pink stylo:

And a blue tipped acro:

The blue tipped acro is pretty browned out, but so far I've had amazing success turning brown SPS into purple SPS in my tank, so I'm confident that this one will purple up in no time.

I also got two new zoa rocks, one has red zoas with yellow skirts and the other has red zoas with red skirts and white zoas with green X's in the middle of them. They haven't opened up for pics yet though.
