So Neal bought that diamond goby for me yesterday to start burying all those damn diatoms, and he'd been in hiding all day. Came out this morning to see him, and finally was able to get a picture of the guy!

The question is HOW???? This fish was about 6 inches long. And fat. WAY too fat to fit through my eggcrate! He was found in the FRONT of the tank, where there weren't even any holes cut in the eggcrate for equipment! Neal's idea is that he jumped up through the eggcrate where the LocLines are, then flopped across the top of the eggcrate to the front of the tank, then hit the ground in front of it.

Needless to say we are very sad. Especially Neal since he paid for it. It sucks when you lose an animal for no apparent reason. He was a good fish, RIP. I'm going back to the LFS to buy another one today.

sorry to hear about your loss.... of course you know I can empathize since mine is missing in action :( just as he warmed up to the tank too! hopefully your new one is as cool as the old one.

Brought my new diamond goby home about an hour ago. Acclimated him, the usual. First thing dude does when I put him in the tank is JUMP THE FREAK OUT, and then he just flopped his way across the top of the tank. Luckily, I had a pitcher handy and was able to catch him, and Neal promptly dumped him back in the water. We are taking turns watching him right now, making sure he doesn't pull that shit again. I named him Tard.

I also bought a mushroom rock with a few different kinds of mushroom, a very small pulsing xenia frag, and some awesome pink zoas. Pics coming up when they decide to come out.

my first diamond goby did the same thing. when the lights came on today my baby clown goby was sucked up in the overflow box. he was still alive but barely. i guess the water tumbled the poor little guy around in there all night. when i dropped him back in the tank he was panting and not swimming to good. now he's off hiding somewhere. i hope he makes it.

well, i just found him no sooner than i typed this i walked the living room to see if i could find him and i did. he tail was hanging out of the mouth of my diamond goby and he was chewing away! :( kinda ironic considering the topic huh?
