Smitty's Reef

I think the way that the Vortechs and the Radion LEDs can communicate with each other. I think it's incredibly cool that you can set it to have thunderstorms and stuff nd both the lighting and the water movement show that.

That said, it's a huge investment. $750 for a Radion and $230 each for Vortechs (that's if you just get the MP10's) so Idk if it's worth it.

Someday I will have them, though. I think Ecotech Marine is a great company.

I agree, and thanks for the input. :)

Oh and for the wireless thing....I thought Ecotech sold some sort of adapter for like $40 that lets you upgrade the vortech to the wireless stuff if you decide to.

I could be wrong, though.

Yes, you're correct. You could upgrade later if you want to, but I'd rather buy the upgraded model rather than upgrade it later, if I decide to go that route.

Nice addition with the coral. Wish my rates were down below 10 to get a couple of acro. Your scooter pretty sweet. I'm thinking of getting one of these over a diamond goby but still haven't made any decisions yet.

Well, I think I'm gonna hold off on the mp10 right now...my cell phone is going haywire again(for the 3rd time), so instead, I'll be upgrading my phone. That seems to be more important right now, and then I'll start saving up again and get my mp10. Thanks for everyone's thoughts on which one would be best for me.

Mp10? Is that a pump? I haven't been up to date on alot of the new gadgets.

EcoTech Marine Vortech MP10.

One of the best powerhead/pumps on the market now. Different modes specially for reef keeping....and it can communicate with their Radion LED light fixture to keep water movement consistent with the lighting cycle/random weather patterns. It's really cool....but pricey!

Yeah...and it's extra nice because the actual driver is on the outside of the tank. It has a very slick design to it and it's barely noticeable in a tank.

+1...

Sweet! I'm about to start my 55 gallon project. I live on a tropical island (Okinawa Japan) so I have excellent access to coral/fish etc. what I don't have immediate access to is affordable equipment. Does anyone have good links for filters etc stateside. I was thinking an fx5 with led lighting a sump and protein skimmer with wave maker etc. anyone have any opinions on brands for the aforementioned gear. Thanks in advance. Friendly shark out.
