Smitty's Reef

If it is, wait a couple more weeks and you'll have more of them. I've got a ton in my tank, too. They're helpful... I haven't bought snails in months! haha

Wow, I haven't posted in my thread in over a month, I just wanted to express my disgust about my power being out. I got home from work about midnight and noticed we had a black out. I checked the tank and noticed everything to be alright, and that the timer indicates the lights went out about 06:30pm. Sooooo, I've been up all night/morning blowing air bubbles into the tank *my jaws hurt*. Let's go ComEd.

Oh damn Smitty! That's dedication! I've had to sit there stirring my tank with a big wooden spoon before during power outages. You can get battery powered pumps and powerheads for pretty cheap (I think around $20). Those may be something you want to look into for emergencies.

woa that stinks!!!!! one of my worst fears is the power going out when im not home. make it easier on yourself lol just stick your hand in the tank and move the water around for a minute or 2, as long as you can get the water movin every once in a while the bacteria wont die and your tank wont crash, lol give your jaw, head and lungs a break lol

I can see it now, Smitty sitting over his tank all night long, blowing furiously through a drinking straw.

Lol....I had a 6' long piece of airline tubing running from my bed to the tank, so while lying there, I would occasionally blow bubbles.

Maybe he just likes blowing?

About the longest my tank has gone without power was 16 hours.

Lmbo...naww, I don't really like blowing, I prefer to lick.

And it has been 18.5 hours now so far for me...the good thing is that the temp has finally come down to a steady 83* instead of 86*.

Well, good news and bad news....the electricity came back on around 10pm last night, and everything looked ok, some of my lps's lost a little color, and 2 of my sps's just bleached out completely. Woke up this morning, and everything looked alright, then all of a sudden...I literally just heard an explosion down the street, and the entire neighborhoods power just went out, again! I guess it's time to start blowing again. :(
