Parrot's 150 Long

I did, but I feel like the power is totally out of the consumers hands these days. I contacted the place I bought the tank from (miracles) since they actually hired the freight company and charged me the freight costs, so they're really the ones who should make it right. The freight company, on the phone, were totally acting like they were doing me a favor by just delivering the product. EFFFF them.

Okay guys, so newest in the saga.
A 150 gallon tank is WAY too heavy, esp starfire & in the rain.
4 people couldn't safely move it.

Any ideas? I'm thinking of getting a moving company to help. Or 6 people?
I'm going to get straps from uhaul and maybe one of those fridge movers.

It's outside right now, I got a tarp over it, but I can't sleep with it out there!

i guess they woulden't hurt. we used them to go up and down stairs with stuff, never lifted both sides at once though. I guess if you were to set one side down and use the straps purpandicular to the tank on the opposite side and lift just one side up top and then left the other side up and slide over i guess that would work. just be sure to put blankets down on the cabinet so you don't scratch the cab. no idea tho lol gotta try it to find out i guess.

Hmm, they sell them at uhaul! I'll have to go get them saturday or monday. Still gotta get 6 people together - it's so hard to get 6 of my friends in the same place, even offering beer & pizza. Doesn't help I live in the middle of nowhere...grrr, so frustrating.

looks like they got 3 of em at ur local home depot. and for free beer and pizza? how could any one pass that up. good luck man, idk if you're getting this rain up there, but maybe itll leak check for ya while it's sittin in the yard lol

So I may have found a piano mover willing to move my tank, we'll see soon!

Soooo...with my stand, I'm shimming it because my house is almost 100 years old and the floor isn't too even.
Is this too many shims? Any suggestions?

Should the shims be as thick as the entire base? 4/6 legs are shimmed. This project is a little frustrating right now!

The shims do not need to be the entire base just under each leg like you have. What you could do is double the shims so that the feet are setting on the shims and not hanging in the air then trim off any excess around the base of the feet. If it feels sturdy then you should be ok.

Gap

The movers came and put the tank in!!! It looks great where it is, but I have some new concerns. The foam I had was too thick, and on top of the plywood, pushed the tank too high and was too slippery.

It looks more exaggerated than it is in the pictures, but on each end the tank separates from the stand by about 1/8". Obviously, this raises the risk of stressing the eurobraced bottom beyond a reasonable amount. It's going to take an army to lift the tank and put some different foam under it, but if it has to be done, so be it. What do you think?
