So skip the rocks, build frag racks instead out of egg crate and PVC, and connect all of the tanks together and run through a sump with LR. That will resolve the flow issue.

I think its a really cool idea. Expensive, but cool!

I don't want the tanks connected, because the different lights could have different impacts on water quality (via algae production).
