found something I can't identify

so it's to the left of the picture in that hole...has an oval shape with what looks like feathers around it. I have noticed it comes out sometimes and when I try and take a look it pulls back in the rock...WTH is this thing

Im sure it has a fancy name, but that is what i know it as. Mine is right under the light, 4 inches under the water. It has been there for a year now

Turkey Wing clam....they are fairly common in Gulf of Mexico live rock....they generally live for a while but don't have a real good long term prognosis....
