Brittany's teeny tiny reef!

So today I raised up the light as much as I could to try and keep the temp down. The last two days it got up to 82. I'm going to have to put the ac in I think to keep it down. But now its a pain to move the tank out to do water changes or move corals bc the filter hits the light. I can't really think of another way to keep the tank cool. I can't do the fan bc it won't fit in such a small area. Here's some pictures.

actually you can get a fan in there. if you seen in my thread i posted a pic of a computer fan in a small block of wood it could sit just below your cabinet aiming into the watter i try to post a pic hang on.

thanks for hangin haha

Hmmm here a pic of it.

Could you just put a fan on your counter aimed at the tank? Maybe not a long term solution but would help for now :)

+1 I would think that would take care of it at least for now. Cool fix mounting the light like that. Those T5 fixtures can get pretty hot and being under the cabinets doesn't help with heat venting either. A good breeze from a small fan moving across that space would help a lot.

Update!! I got a few corals and a new fish the last couple days. A yellow clown goby, a green trumpet coral, a two head frogspawn and a wicked orange plate coral. All seems to be doing well. I also bought a heater bc since I lifted the light up the tank gets too cold when the lights go out. So I'm hoping to keep the tank between 78-80. I think I got the temp fluctuation figured out now. Here are some pics! Oh and the best part is I got everything except the plate for free! I fragged and traded for store credit! :) awesome

The one here was $90 and also very tiny and very bright. I didn't get it because I wanted to start out with a few easier pieces and also...it was ninety freakin bucks! LOL

Plate corals are pretty easy. Just feed them a couple times a week and don't let your clowns host it till it dies...that's what happened to my first one but this one is more awesome than the last.
