Brittany's teeny tiny reef!

Lol Matt! He is on the verge of obese! He was pretty fat when I bought him. I'd rather have him fat and happy than starving himself like some mandarins do. I'm so glad we found one who eats frozen. Bumble bee is a good name. I'll see if the hubby likes it. He comes up with some weird names. He said earlier he wants to name him quatro. Lol I said uhh, no way! So the new guy didn't eat any frozen food when I offered it but he's been sucking up mouthfuls of sand and sifting thru it...am I safe to assume he is eating stuff that's in the sand?

A lot of gobies are sand sifters, my Gold Head Sleeper Goby in my 36 sifts sand all day, only problem is he likes to swim while he does it and deposit sand all over my rocks and corals which I'm constantly cleaning off. :frustrat:

Your Hector's Goby looks in the video like he pretty much stays in one place while he sifts. Great looking little guy. Saw one at my LFS the other day and was thinking about getting him but didn't do it. Maybe I'll have to now that I saw yours. :D

Thanks guys! I am loving this little guy. He found a cute little hole to sleep in at night. It's so cute, he pokes his little face out. It's official, Bumblebee is his name, thanks Matt :)

He does pretty much stay in the same spot while sifting and he is so small that he doesn't move a whole ton of sand at once. Those sleeper gobys have huge mouths!

Yeah my sleeper has gotten quite big, about full size as far as they go and the mess he can make is really something. But I have the cleanest sand it town.

Soo...today I'm a little irritated and grumpy. I went to my lfs to pick up some blue moonlight leds. Well I got them home and noticed the plexiglass that covers the t5s get pretty warm. So I didn't think it was a good idea to sticky tape it to the plexiglass and the leds are linkable so there is like an 8in cord that is going to have to be hidden somehow. The tank is going to get wayy too warm in the summer. It was like 65 the other day and the tank got to 82. So I'm going to raise the light. Then ill have to get a heater for when the light turns off so the tank doesn't get too cold at night. And I have to get a hood so I can attach the moonlight somewhere. Ughh. This is dumb. I want to buy corals not stupid little things like this! Ugh don't mind me I'm just grumpy and impatient. So on my day off ill be getting a glass lid. Attaching the light to the lid. And raising the light. It better work the way i plan this time. Lol

Maybe having the glass lid will keep the tank warm at night so I don't need a heater...I forgot to add some pictures. A fts and I'm concerned about my birdnest. I put some in the tank and it got lighter in color. I figured it is adjusting to the light. Well the base of it is staring to get very light, almost white. You can see the color difference of the birdnest from the original color.

Okay so after my impatient spat the other day I played around with the new moonlights and found a way for them to work. I taped them to the black lip in the front at the top of the tank. So the lights are pointing from the front angled down to the back. I tried from the corner. Didn't like it very much. Tried from the back but all I could see was a blue glare off the surface of the water. Anyways. Now I don't need to get a cover. Here's a before and after shot. My phone doesn't handle the blue very well but I managed a couple pics.

In the first picture you can see where the two leds are shining down. Leaving a dead spot in the middle.

In the second, well you can see lol the light is a little more purple but the two different spectrums look kinda cool together.

The tank is looking sooooo good! I love the moonlight. What kind of moonlights are they? I also would like one on my ten gallon but not sure how to mount it either- can you send me a pic of where/how you mounted them?

Chichi, they are truelumen linkabke led moonlights. They are more of a purplish blue in person. Here are some pics. Kinda crappy but the best I could get. I just taped it right across the front and my light fixture is going to be hanging above the tank soon. Not the beat looking but its as good as its gonna get. I tried taping to the back but didn't how the light shown in the water.
