Okay, here are the latest pics. Today Neal and I started "The Great Tankventure". EagleEyes (Brendan) also came over for a while and watched me boss Neal around :D.
Before we did anything, I gave the new tank a nice, big final rinse. NWKRC!!
All the live rock was moved into a couple of bins.
Then Neal went fishing. And caught all the fish and shrimp and (non-hermit) crabs in about 15 minutes! Go Neal! He must be taking lessons from Yote.
Smoothie time! Then I drained the 55 with my Python. Thank god for the Python. If you don't have one, get one!
Then, Neal and I sorted through all the crushed coral substrate that was in the 55 by hand and rescued any bristleworms, crabs and snails that we could find. That took a long time. But my bleeding vegetarian heart couldn't let anything die unnecessarily.
The kitchen became a construction zone.
Once the 55 was cleaned out, we siliconed in the baffles, as it is to become the new sump.
I cleaned out my old 20 gallon fuge and sump. Mmmm algae!
We had to drop the 55 gallon tank down through the 240's stand. So Neal rigged up some sawhorses behind the 240's stand.
Sump is in!
Then we pushed everything back to the wall.
