Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

ARGHHH!! From saltwaterfish.com, TWO of the three dispars arrived dead!! So I only got one fish from them. I also got a long tentacled plate coral, a short tentacled plate coral, a galaxea and a fox, none of which have opened yet, but they seem to look good so far. The galaxea is HUGE, about 10 inches across. I had no idea it would be so big.

From reefer madness, all three lyretails arrived alive (and they are SO pretty Doc, you must have seen ugly ones before), so I acclimated all four fish and put them in the tank. Only two have come out.

So now, saltwaterfish.com owes me two dispars and reefer madness owes me three bicolors. Being owed stuff SUCKS!

Here's the big news. Tangent is MIA. HOW THE EFF DO YOU LOSE A GIANT TRIGGER FISH?!?! No where to be seen. I dumped garlic in the water to draw him out, no sign of him. I haven't tried feeding yet, but I am seriously on the verge of a nervous breakdown here.

BTW, saltwaterfish.com wants me to preserve the dead fish in salt and mail them back to me so that they can credit my account. Talk about gross. I did it, and took pictures of the dead fish, I'm waiting to hear back from them to see if I can just send them the pictures and that will be proof enough for them. It's kind of a jerky policy, that they'll only give you credit if you send them back the freakin bodies.

Beware guys, I am NOT in a good mood today. DO NOT CROSS ME, I'M WARNING YOU!!!

Oh, and I got a second dog over the weekend. She came with all sorts of bad habits. Like she thinks the couch is her place to sleep. Getting up on the couches is a big no no for my dogs. She's this giant fat basset hound mix. So I'm super frustrated having to try to retrain her, and she is to freakin heavy for me to lift, so I can't even get her off the couch when she jumps up there!

Help! I think I'll go out drinking tonight .

Okay, three of the four living anthias are now out and about... Although one is making me really nervous as it's staying at the surface of the water. But it looks healthy.

OKAY, NO FREAKING JOKE HERE, WHERE THE HELL IS MY TRIGGER?!?! This is so not funny, guys.

AHHHHHHH FISH SUCK! I HATE FISH!! STUPID FISH! I don't think I'm ever going to order fish online again. Corals, fine. But fish, too much of a hassle if they don't live.

WHERE THE HELL IS TANGENT!! STILL NO SIGN OF HIM. I'm a freaking mess. I looooove that fish. He's my scaly little toothy pink tailed baby...

Great,great[sarcasm]
This is not the kind of news I was looking for.Saltwaterwish is right out of Vera beach,Ca.All they needed to go to is Arizona.Mine has to travel to Tennessee, not good news for me.Its cold as heck here too,in the 20's tonight. My order will be here in the morning. You are right about that weird guarantee.Having to ship the dead body in salt and a zip lock bag. However this turns out,I will stick to Livequaria,no pictures,no sending back the dead specimen.Just a simple phone call with no hassle.

You mean the DISPAR?? Singular? Because only one came alive? In actuality, I can't tell the difference between the lyretails and the dispar. They look EXACTLY the same. Well, the females do. The male lyretail, well that's obvious.

Tangent decided to come out to eat. What a crappy attitude. He really freaked me out.

Thats what I meant, dispar as in singular. So you never said if they look nice.I'm going to assume yes because you like the lyretails. You know what,I don't even think they sent any of the fish that I added later. If not,I'm going Liveaquaria and order some more fish.

I can't sleep,I hope my fish don't freeze to death.Did you find Tangent?

Tangent was found. Alive. Thank god. Tomorrow I have to go to my LFS to get some better food for him. I can't keep up with his appetite with what I currently have in my freezer. He's eating me out of house and home! DAMN TEENAGERS! Thank god I don't have to pay for his and Cosine's wedding. That's the bride's parents' responsibility!

How did you know what they sent you before hand? They didn't tell me if its the original five fish or if they added the four more I added later.

I'm sure Cosine's parents have the money for the wedding.

way to go Alexander, congrats on your success. there are only a few people who ever reach that mark.

Biff, I am sorry for your fear about Tangent. They are such beautiful and biosterous fish, it would have been a shame to lose him, not to mention the sadness that Cosine would have felt. She is under the weather anyway and the shock would have probably done her in.

As for food, if you can't stomach silversides, go with krill. San Francisco makes good stuff as far as krill goes. Cosine seems to be happy with a chunk about the size of a quarter daily.

Sorry to hear about your fish loss. It always sucks. I only have two of my origional four Bartletts. They are just fragile fish. Hard to know which will live or die. Shipping them tends to create a lot of stress as well. I have never been a fan of buying livestock online. I want to see the fish before I buy it. Just my :twocents:

silversides it is then. You will be surprised how few they need to be happy. If you think about it, my 2 ft shark was fat and happy with four three times a week. Tangent will not need near that much.

-Doc

I actually picked up a different type of food for Tangent from my LFS today -- they are called lancefish. I've never heard of them, but I hope Tangent finds them yummy. I also got a big yellow zoa rock. I'll have to take pics of my new additions soon, but I've been lazy and haven't even taken my galaxea and fox off the sand bed yet :(
