Barch's 125gal. saltwater reef tank

Barch

Reefing newb
Okay, this tank is my first attempt at a saltwater aquarium. The tank is now just over 10 months old and has become the highlight of the office. It sits across from my desk so that I get to look at it all day long and I love it. I have had several customers check the progress of my tank as the months have gone by so it has been enjoyed by many. I refurbished a used 125 gal acrylic tank and stand and then plumbed in an old 55 gallon tank through the wall for the refugium and life support. I have to say that many hours were spent on this website researching and learning about what to do and what not to do, so much thanks goes out to all of you for providing all that advise. I am pleased with the results and have enjoyed the journey!

I dedicated the adjacent storage room in the office as my life support room. It has all the filtration, water preparation equipment etc. I have it set up so that I can make R/O-DI water and mix the saltwater, do water changes with little hassle. Complete with ATO so that I don't have to worry about keeping the tank full. All water changes and top off are done in the refugium tank. PH, Temp. ATO are all controlled with the Reef Keeper Lite. The display tank has 100 lbs of quarried rock that I got from John at Reef Cleaners (great people to work with) and there is about 5 lbs of rubble in the refugium. Both the refugium and display tank were then seeded with a small piece of live rock that I got from the LFS.
