I purchased a trumpet coral which looks and acts similar to sun/cup coral. My question is about proper food. The tentacles only extend at night, which I completely was aware of and anticipated, but I'm having a problem getting it to feed. I tried spot feeding with Marine snow, which doesn't seem to work. Any advice or recommendations on proper food? My next thought is spot feeding mysis shrimp.

I use small pellets. I tun off powerheads and filtration, put a bit of water in a small cup, place pellets in water, stir until they sink, suck them up into a pippet, sprinkle over coral.

Check this out for more.

You could try mysis as well, but trumpet coral are photosynthetic, so you don't really NEED to feed them (though it will promote faster growth). Sun corals are non-photosynthetic and need to be fed.
