Depends on the tank.In a 75,that much light would probably cause some serious heat issues.

400 is definitely higher than what most people use.

10" to 16" use 70 watt halides
16" to 24" use 150 to 175 watt halides or higher with some SPS
24" to 36" use 250 watt halides or higher with some SPS
36" to 48" and stretching to 60" use 400 watt halides
Over 48" to 60" use 1000 watt halides
Always consider halides a potential heating issue.:^:
