just got my polyp/zoo coral pack today from ebay.i got a baby sea hare hitch hiker, maybe that will help my algea problems.also he/she threw in a little red hard coral.what should i do with it?,im not sure if i can keep my water stable enough.and post a vid now or wait till there open?

how do you know if hard corals are alive?

If you'll look at night with a flash light.You'll see little feeding tenicles.
Plus they will lose color real quick if their stressed.

As long as you keep the water quality up to par.
But that means keeping track of calcium and alkalinity too.

I think it's a montipora too. If the hard coral is dead or dying, it turns white. Yours looks healthy. Keep it near the top of the tank and see how it does.
