Jan 13, 2010 #65 Bifferwine I am a girl If you don't have any ammonia or nitrites, then you can do a water change. If you do have ammonia and nitrites, then doing a water change will make them last longer.

You aint seen nothing yet:D The first year with the new tank is usually the worst for the algae.The system has to mature enough to handle excess nutrients before it can effectively combat algae.
