Sump to Refugium

I have a sump currently but it has no refugium. The sump currently has some baffles that separates some compartments for the return pump and skimmer. My question is, if I cut the exisitng baffles so I can move my skimmer more forward, create a different set of baffles and use the center area for a refugium will it degrade the integrity of the outside walls to the point the outside walls will bow and possibly come apart in the corners?

no .. you can take the baffles out and move them to a different location no problems.. just did that to a friends yesterday.. he got a bigger skimmer and wouldnt fit in his old design..

So if I were to take ALL the internal baffles out and place them elsewhere then it would not hurt anything? How did you attach the baffles once you moved them?

put them back in using silicone.. :D
