Reef Crystals perhaps not so great

My alk was already down to 6 last night after a 50% change with Reef Crystals last week! Cal was 420 but I dosed cal earlier in the week and ph was 8.2ish.

MY CONCLUSION: None of the salt mixes really do a whole lot to eliminate the need for dosing in tanks with lots of coralline and alk-cal loving corals.

depends on how much you have in your tank for lots of people water changes will suffice just fine and keep things level. but if you have a lot of coral in your tank you will either need to dose or get a calcium reactor.

i have to dose every day even if i change my water every week i loose anywere from 1 to 1.5 dkh a day in my tank and the cal drops just as fast
