Reaction 4 canister filter

Have two questions. First the impeller seems to be just going back and forth, not spinning. Is that a problem with the impeller or the works in the head?

The UV lamp, does it emit any visible light and if not how do you tell if it's on and not burned out?

On the UV are you talking about a sterilizer or lighting on the tank? My UV sterilizer is visible when on (it has a clear plastic bottom), and when taken apart the bulb does light up.

As far as the impeller goes have you tried cleaning the impeller and the inner working?

Cleaned the impeller and impeller cavity, was no help. UV light is built into the reaction 4 filter but would guess it's the same, I should see something so it must be burned out.

Since the light and the impeller are not working on the same unit I would guess it just needs to be replaced. there is no simple fix to the issue without major electrical work. Sorry
