PRC's 90 gallon Build

Update on the Algae scrubber. Tomorrow is cleaning day, so I tested Nitrates today. Going by the liquid test kits, I'm still between 10-15. Not quite 15 anymore..But definitely more than 10. That's a total of approx. 10 point Nitrate reduction in 7 days.

Here are a couple of updates on my Algae scrubber and tank in general. Today is cleaning day for my algae scrubber, tested my nitrates, they are below 5ppm. I also picked up 3 golfball sized mexican turbo snails today for $9.00. Here are some pics. I'm starting to get some serious coraline growth on the glas of the tank, a small amount of diatom growth on the sand within the last few days but it's going away already. The scare that I had with the foxface is over, I had the whole family down in the office checking out the happenings in the tank. The kids are really starting to get into it, and so is my wife, but don't tell her that. But she's starting to get hooked.:D

Update: Changed 1 of my 150W 10k MW bulbs that was dimmer than the other. I decided to go with a 15k rather than a 10k. I really like the way it looks. The 10k is much more yellow. So I've got a little bit of uneven lighting in the tank right now, I'll probably change the other next week.

Algae Scrubber Update.

Checked my nitrates tonight. This is using the Algae scrubber only. I don't have skimmer, about 100 lbs of liverock. My nitrates are at zero. All other parameters are in check. Here's the proof.

On Feb 26th at the end of my cycle my nitrates were 20ppm. Installed the Algae scrubber. I'm now at 0ppm.
