hahahahahhahaha! I love it! I think we will keep you! And you are ChemE, like me! We ChemE's got to stick together!

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Well that means I have no other choice but to crack horrible engineering jokes...

Title: A Sexual Encounter between a Capacitor and an Inductor

One evening, with his charge at full capacity, Micro Farad decided to get a cute coil to discharge him. He went to the Magnet Bar to pick up a chip called Millie Amp. He caught her out back trying self induction; fortunately, she had not damaged her solenoid. The two took off on his megacycle and rode across the Wheatstone Bridge into a magnetic field, next to a flowing current , to watch the sine waves.

Micro Farad was very much stimulated by Millie's characteristic curve. Being attractive himself, he soon had her field fully excited. He set her on the ground potential, raised his frequency, lowered her resistance, and pulled out his high voltage probe. When he inserted it in parallel, he short-circuited her shunt. Fully excited, Millie cried out, "ohm, ohm, give me mho". As he increased his tube to maximum output, her coil vibrated from the current flow. It did not take long for her shunt to reach maximum heat. Now with the excessive current shortening her shunt, Micro's capacity rapidly discharged – every electron was drained off. But that was not the end of it. Indeed, they fluxed all night, tried various connections and hookings until his bar magnet weakened, and he could no longer generate enough voltage to sustain his collapsing field. With his battery fully discharged, Micro was unable to excite his tickler, so they went home. A few weeks later, they were merged forever and oscillated happily ever after.

Okay here is a short video of me killing aiptasia. Sorry my breathing is so loud I am getting over a cold. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyy.

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

I hate to tell you this, but i dont think you killed them. For the lemon juice method to work you need to directly inject them, not just feed it to them. They are probably just retracted down into the rock. If you want to stick with the lemon juice method, you should get a syringe to inject it from your pharmacy. It also helps if you boil it.

Wahhhhhh okay I will get a syringe and do it again tonight. These things suck!

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

agree with little fish, you may have just pissed them off. i use aiptasia x and it works like magic

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Ugh maybe ill scrap the whole rock this is annoying.

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Okay so I just got home and... the aiptasia I zapped with the juice must have killed them. There are hardly any on the section I juiced and two of them are all gross discharging their insides so it had to have worked.

1 point Amba, 0 points Aiptasia

Thank you littlefish for helping me with this debacle =D

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!

Suck that shit up with a turkey baster before it turns into a MILLION more of those little fuckers!!!

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

agree with little fish again, that would be the pissed off aiptasia spreading spores to create even more... its bound to pull one over on you, keep an eye on it... again, i would go with aiptasia x.. If you use it properly, aiptasia doesnt stand a chance. I used it on majano and it cured it first try. probably the best investment i have spent in the hobby and if i ever find anything that remotely looks like majano or aiptasia, i zap it right away... I even zapped baby button polyps!

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Okay well by now if it did spread spores I am in trouble. If by chance I get lucky and they don't come back then great but if they do then I will take ALL the rock out of my tank and soak that shit in boiling water. Or perhaps I will just use my 1 watt S3 krypton laser from Wicked Lasers. I ain't even playin'.

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Why don't you just use the aiptasia x? Prlly be easier than taking out all your rocks and reaquascaping?

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

boiling the rock will kill the aiptasia but also kill off precious bacteria... which will cause another cycle with the die off. I wouldnt worry with boiling it, play it cool for a week or two and observe what sprouts up; then zap it with the aiptasia x.

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

Alright I will wait a week or two if it comes back I'll use aiptasia x.

Just another picture I caught this morning of Halo. Also got a few tiny pieces of live rock for my nano, which my starfish apparently couldn't wait to nap on :p
