new salt

LOL When I saw Nate's post, I thought OOO! Nate's back!...then I saw the date of this thread Hehehehe.

Isn't it bad to change salt in systems? Or does it just have to be done gradually?

i dont think it is bad to change salts. i do know the Yote does not like the brightwells salt

Hehehe...despite his initial excitement :)

I've used the same salt since day 1. No doubt it's pricier, but I"m happy with it. Never had water issues.

James is right.After using a bucket of the Brightwells salt,I've gone back to SeaChem Reef.
The first few water changes,everything in the tank seemed to do better.Then everything started going the other direction.
I'm guessing that there was something in the salt that built up over time with the water changes.
Either way.From here on out.I'll be using either SeaChem Reef or Oceanic.

That reminds me, I need to order new salt. I'm down to my last 1/2 bucket :(
