My 33 Gallon Build

Koda, impressed with your restraint! It will pay off big time for you, I think. Those zoas look great, and they should grow pretty fast! I'd suggest fragging them now and attaching a few pieces to another small rock. Then, in a few months, you can bring those frags back and trade them for more corals. The earlier you frag stuff the more you'll have!

Oh...it was hard. When they said my levels look great...feel free to take them today.... I'd be lying to say I wasn't very very tempted.

But another few days/week is not going to matter much in the scheme of things.

Okay, here are the new fish with some better photos.

They are settling in but they seem to be hang out near the filter intake... this will give you an idea of where... near top right back corner. I know it is fairly common for them to call a powerhead home...but it almost looks like they seeking out the only "calm" ie no flow area I would have in the tank?

Opinions?

FYI - all the levels were perfect yesterday and perfect today...
80'F
8.4
1.025
Nitrate = 0
Nitrite = 0
Ammonia = 0
Calcium = 400
alk = 9

Fish deal with a lot more flow in the ocean, so they're fine with that...they're probably just gravitating to a certain object as "home" while they are uncertain in their new environment.

okay now I am getting worried about one of these fish...

It doesn't stay like that but in more or less that area sometimes on her side sometimes not... the other fish just hangs near that one at all times no matter where it is.

I believe clowns will always generally stay within a certian vicinity of each other.. Is the fish constantly swimming sideways?

I wouldn't worry just yet....mine were hiding and hovering near the top of my tank's surface in the back (usually behind the hob overflow where I could barely see them).....they stayed that way for a week or so, and didn't eat much either. Give them time to adjust.

I need to hear that right now...thanks

Hope you are right though...

I guess Ill go to bed and see how things are in the morning...if all is still not great... maybe make some changes. I had been advised to raise the temp to 82, lower salinity to 1.02, add in an airstone and lastly syhon out all the crap :) good advice?

What is your salinity at.? You should keep it between 1.024-1.026. You don't want to make any sudden adjustments to the tank and stress the fish out even more. Keep the temp between 78-80, again no sudden adjustments..

What kind of crap could you possibly have in there? You just set up the tank.. Let it ride until the morning..Unless your parameters are off, which reading your previous threads, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that those parameters are spot on...Don't make adjustments, you'll only stress the fish out, and yourself.

okay so today I wake up and they are swimming normally, not super active...but HUGELY different than last night.

Both fish are swimming normally... and one sort of hangs out near the powerhead all day the other swims around...then comes bac to the power head etc etc.

I guess they are just freaky sideways swimmers when the lights go off?
