The RO unit is the most important piece of equipment IMO. You should purchase that right after you get the tank home.

BEFORE you buy any skimmers or filters or lights - go get an RO unit!!!

I agree. RO is the way to go. I dont have a unit, but only have a small tank so I buy it from the LFS. If I had a larger tank, or more room in the small place we live, I would have an RO unit.
