how mutch skimming should i expect

It depends on your bio-load. Some get a half cup daily and others get a cup approx. every week. I only get a cup or so once a week.

i only have 3 fish and i don't feed them alot i have noticed it will skim 4 a couple hours and the bubbles will go back down so on and so on is that normal

mine kinda has a cycle like that too, and mine is an octopus110, sometimes its obviously putting stuff in the cup, and then sometimes it looks like its not adjusted up high enough...

i'm getting some nasty green and brown crud out, so i call it a win and move on...
