is this sump feasible?

if you make a siphon overflow you dont have to drill the tank and it is way cheaper that a hole saw bit.

I bought my hole saw and had it shipped to my house for $9. That was for the bit AND the shipping. $9

How cheap can you make a siphon overflow and what are the risks of failure when compared to a bulk head with an overflow box inside the tank?

it cost me $13 plus a bulk head and glue. but locally those bits were $40 +

I guess it goes back to the old subject of time & money. Most problems in life can be solved with time or money. Usually it's a combination of both. We all trade time for money in our daily lives.

I neglected to mention my hole saw was from Hong Kong and it took about 10 - 12 days to reach me. Still not bad for a 60mm diamond coated hole saw.

I found hole saws locally for $40+ too. I just decided to save some $$$ and spend a little time to get the hole saw. :mrgreen:

Now buying fish online is a DIFFERENT story. In that case, I will gladly spend heaps of $$$ to save time on the delivery of live animals. :mrgreen:
