The Great Tang Herder
So today i am going to take all my fish outta my 90 gallon coral tank. With a lil manovering to the other 3 tanks I have I should be able to get them all situated nicely. My question is, how long is an appropriate time to leave the fish out so the ich will die off. As alot of you know I am going to get bigger tank in the next few weeks and want to use the water outta my coral tank. So that being said please help.

to be sure the cysts are all dead I recommend 3 months to be sure with no fish.

This is a huge controversy. 6-8 weeks with your tank empty (with no fish) and they need to be treated for 3-4 weeks with medication, then pull out the copper, which can harm your fish over long periods. The thing that you need to make sure is when you add them back to the tank, you must quarintine all new fish for the same amount of time to help with not introducing ich to your aquarium.

I have never been able to completly remove ich from any of my tanks, except my quarintine systems. Good luck
