How much Cheato??

I have an 8 gal HOB regfugium (36x4x12) on my 55 gal tank with Cheato algae. I have three clumps with live sand, and a piece of live rock with T8 lighting. I just trimmed it all last week, and have it running alternate lighting than the main tank. My question is should i add more, or get possibly some calerpa to throw in there too. I figure there should be some space for the cheato to grow, instead of jam packing it in there.

I'd leave it as it is...you don't need to add more, and you're correct, it needs space to grow and move freely.
