Hermits

When I stocked my tank with crabs I only got 3. But lately I found 2 dead bodies but my 3 originals are still fine. Do hermits reproduce in just a few months? I have no idea where those 2 came from. Thanks for any replies. :question:

Those are molts. When they grow, the hermits shed their exoskeleton, which look just like the live crab.

I used to have 2 hermits. One morning I thought one of them molted. It turns out it was the actual body. I assumed the other hermit killed it as it was molting.

Hello +1 on the molting.You should have a few extra shells in there to as they molt and grow they will need bigger homes
