Fried Fish

Thats true. But it'll still let you (know) that somethings not right so you'll know to start looking.

ok, can you explain how its gonna let me know? i didnt think that it had any kind of indicators on it, i thought it was just a non coroding probe that you stuck in the water, and then the wire could carry off anything that was in the water(electricity wise)

not being a smart-a$$, but how will it let me know anything?

If you have your tank on a GFI (like you should) then if there is stray voltage, the probe will trip the gfi. If you dont have a probe, the gfi probably wont trip.

So if the GFI trips that indicates that something is wrong

ahhh ok, its an indirect indication kinda thing, not that the probe itself will show me.. ok, got it now.

ofcourse, if all the fish are just floating, that might also tell me something :D

FYI Also the probe will stand up and do a little jig when there is stray voltage.

You'll also know its not working when you stick your hand in the water and get electrical arcs between your teeth:D

But yeah,see Bjs post above:D
