so today im actually getting my last material. [knock on wood] i need to pick up some plexi from home depot to cut my baffles and i obviously wanna spend as little money as possible... i was wondering since plexi is 20 times stronger that glass how thick it had to be... would this work?

thats more than enough surface area for my sump and the largest chamber is only going to hold 4 gallons so there wont be that much for anywhere on the plexi. if not how thick do i need? and also what is the best way to cut the stuff hah

IMO that won't be think enough, if I remember correctly, I used to .220 for my sump.
Here are a few different methods for cutting the plastic, I used the scoring tool Plexiglass Tools | eHow.com

cool... then ill go with .220
this one is less expensive and more efficient anyway!

I would also go with 3/16 or 1/4" plexi. Remember, that preasure is a function of height not volume. So the deeper the section, the stronger the plexi needs to be.
