I would switch to Reef Crystals if I were you. I started my tank using Instant Ocean and couldn't get my calcium to stay above 300. I switched to Reef Crystals and after just a few water changes, it went up to 420 and has stayed there since.

I use instant ocean and calcium levels stay around 500ppm in my tank.

Haha, for a while I couldn't get it to go down! It was like off the measurable end of the scale. Even bought another test kit to see if the first one was bad.


Then again, I also have a bunch of Tufa rock in there as well and its composition is a lot of calcium. Hm...
