Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

great buys guys. I am impressed with the impulsiveness you both have. You put me to shame!!! :D

Have you seen the sunburst anthias? maybe that is what you are referring to with "sunset". I forgot to mention them last night they are: Serranocirrhitus latus...sometimes called fathead or hawkfish anthias. The bible says they are deep water, but both my LFS have them in shallow reefs with MH lighting. They are super pretty and docile.

never seen those before. Can't help with any firsthand experience. Best of luck to you on your new fishies. Make sure you post pics on Reefs 210 Journal.

Hmmm on other sites sunset anthias are listed as the same as fatheads, but you're right, that pic doesn't look like a fathead at all. That one looks really cool, in fact, and I would have ordered that instead of the lyretail if I had seen the pic beforehand! SHEESH.

Not to be outdone,I added a male/female lyretail and a Purple Queen anthias.

That makes bartletts, tiger queen, lyretails, sunsets, dispars and purple queen anthias. That makes 6 varieties of anthias,Doc don't you wish you had a tank as big as Biff and me?

So are the sunsets, the purple was one of Doc's recommendations.I'm going to try anyways.Maybe with all the other anthias,it might coax them to come out and adapt to the bright lighting.

it is true Dominick, I wish I had a tank as big as yours. I am supremely jealous. If only...maybe one day, after I have paid my dues...we'll see.

As for the anthias, great selection. I have seen the purple queens at my LFS for cheap and swimming and eating happily under T-5 lighting. I think you have a good chance of getting them all to school together.

As your you Biff, I thought you had more than 20 fish already? If that is so, you are now adding 11 more fish? Holy Bio-load Batman!!! I trust you know what you are doing. I would hate to see your tank take a header down ammonia alley.

I think! My nitrates are at zero! They are at zero! Which means I can add more fish! And my little fish don't count! The sixline doesn't count as a fish! Neither does the yellow tail or the baby tomato clown! Those are too small to count! Right? RIGHT?!?!

Hopefully it will be okay. I am a bit worried. Especially since I've quadrupled the amount I feed due to the addition of Tangent "Don't Call Me Fat" the Trigger...

''Holy Bio-load Batman!''That was too good.I'm going to have to use that on other post.Doc,I finally saw a Ebli Mimic Tang, you think I have room for another?

Biff,I think that at one time that you were going to add a hundred fish. You weren't lying were you?Your not even half way, keep chucking them in there.

I was counting my fish.....when everything gets here I will be at 13.I can't go with that,I will be adding one more tonight.I'm like you,I'm not counting my mandarin and one purple firefish.I've never seen those two poop so they don't count.31 doesn't sound so bad, most of your fishes are small, right? If you didn't have Tangent, you could have 10 fishes take his place.Thats probably about right....10 anthias bioload=1 Pink tail trigger bioload.

I though after buying anthias that it would crash my system since they need to be fed so often.I feed the same amount as I always has, just more often. Now,time to find a new fish to add.To bad the Eblii is sold out.
