adding lots of livestock really fast in an immature system will not allow the biological filter to adapt fast enough resulting in a mini-cycle, which will cause algae outbreaks.

also, feeding flake or pellet food can feed algae. if using this try switching to frozen.

Just siphon out as much of the cyano as you can,then leave the tank dark for 3 or 4 days.
