Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

I have 5 green chromis, they school. I'm not going to get any more than that, I think 5 is a good number for them. I have 300 lbs of sand.

I don't think I was able to quite steal my thread back with the blurry/cloudy pictures. Just wait until the dust settles and I get my ChemiPure running! Then I'll be able to take it back.

Good thing you labled the corals or I would of been lost. Some of hem I knew so I'm getting better. Tank is looking real good. Thanks for the update.

Damn Biff, your a moderator now....get that algae under control!(yes,I'm being ghetto!)

I do love your aquascaping over mine though,I really suck at that. You mention something about those red things.I keep thinking they are hydroids, yay or nay?

Chemipure suppose to remove dissolved organic matter that feeds the algae.I hear it suppose to make the water crystal clear.I may have to try some myself.

That algae is getting MUCH better, thank you! It's all leftover from my last tank, and it's been dying off in hoards. Thank god.

ChemiPure is kinda like carbon. But better.

Those red things are not hydroids... They are SOME sort of polyp, they actually look a lot like the polyps that are symbiotic with sponges, but a different color. And without the sponge. My LFS guy picked them up scuba diving off the coast of Mexico (he has a license to bring stuff back) and had no idea what they were. I bought that rock for $10, didn't know what kind of lighting or feeding or anything they needed (neither did my LFS, it was kind of an experiment), but they have multiplied and done really well in my tank. They sure are pretty. I'll get a better picture later.

Here are the pink polyps that decided to open up:

And I got a new shroom rock today, it has around 10 shrooms on it:

And also this branch with yellow zoas:

holy crap girl. I know you are still in college, but your job must give you a rocking salary to afford all these corals. How much money has this cost you? how are you paying for everything? I know you got the tank at a steal (still unsure what favors you did to get that price) but live rock, live sand, corals, lighting, it all adds up. How are you doing it?

Oh man i wish i had your kinda time on my hands. I really like the branch with the yellow zoas. Those gonna fill out the rest of the branch as they multiply? Or start thier own branch from where they are outward? The whole tank pics on pg 56 were awesome too congrats on getting it all filled up and scaped. I was busy as hell saturday and i just got sick so im tied up until next weekend i think. Id like to get over the Southwest to see if they have a stand that will fit my 20 gallon long as a sump. I have made NO progress otherwise on the 55 since I got it home though. It is killing me!!!

How do I afford it? I work three jobs. I bust my ass. In fact, I'm about to go into work right now! YUCK! I had been taking a nap. But then SOMEBODY sent me a text message of a ship flipped over on its side sinking, for some reason, which means that now I have to get up and work. Ahem. Redline. :D.
