Anthony, just a bit of experience speaking....take the advice of the LFS with a grain of salt...they are literally in the business of taking as much of your money as they can....I have been in the reef game for longer than many experienced hobbyists have been alive and that is one lesson that many have found out the hard way....

You are adding livestock waaaay too fast in my opinion, not trying to slam you, just trying to save you from an early crash or from making a lot of livestock very uncomfortable in a system that is not mature enough to support their waste....

and if anybody here is a LFS owner or employee, I hope you understand the message I am trying to share here....

Only reason I took the tang was cause a friend was breaking down his tank. And, I thought Urchins didn't add to the bioload 0_o? The Tang is going to be rehomed once I find a person who has a big enough tank for him.

Also, the post for the two percula i mentioned, was for a entirely different tank. (Not sure if that was part of your comment are not)

Are those the only powerheads you got? Because i have the same ones (i think) and they are only rated at 250 GPH each. Thats only a 500 GPH and not even turning your tank over 10 times.

Also if you get a Mandarin that eats frozen, i wouldn't pack the tank full of pods. That could make the Mandarin not eat frozen.

Those two powerheads are rated for 500gph each. They move the water reaaallly well. And, I'm not getting a mandarin for a long time. Chances are, if I do, I'll be putting him in the 10 Gal I'm re-setting up now.

Kinda regretting the fact I let my wife talk me in to a 46 bowfront tank. Limits my ability to put tangs or butterflies in it :(

Thanks! That Tang is only in there for now, I'm talking to a fish store over in Sparta(Nj) about me raising them till they are too big for my tank, then trading them in for a smaller sized one. Works well for them because they can sell larger tangs for more money, and they save on feeding them the whole time. :)

Those appear to be the Marineland Maxi-Jet powerheads, which come in a number of ratings. I know the model 400 is rated at 500GPH and the model 600 is 750GPH....

My diamond watchman, is a model citizen. He sifts sand, he's peaceful, and very active. I wish you were able to put more then one of the same species, because I'd bring that pink spot right back and get another diamond lol

I hate fish stores. They lie so much. Only reason I even got him was because I was told that pretty much any watchman is a sand sifter. And figures, the one I get isn't. Also, what are the chances of a Yellow Watchman and a Yellow Clown Goby co-existing without squabbles?

Also this is why we tell you to do your own research. Spend some time reading up and decide what you want (and will work in your tank) BEFORE you walk in the fish store.

So, I re-arranged my rockwork the other day. Unfortunately, my two Urchin's couldn't handle the stress of it and have passed. R.I.P. Rose Pink and Pencil Urchin :(.

New pics of tank now (they were taking shortly after so the water is still slightly cloudy but you can still see what i was aiming for anyway :).
