Reefing newb
First I'd like to thank everyone here. I havn't had a question yet that I couldn't find an answer to, or at least an informative discusion about.
I have been busy, so here are some pics.
Leak test. The stand is from my roomate, it will need a little reinforcement.
I found some plans for an overflow I tweeked them a little, still not done with it. More on this later.

The tubes were not keeping up, so I built one out of spare 1-1/4" pvc. Now it pulls water like crazy, but I can still out pace it with the mag 9.5? I think it may have to do with the size of the inner box or pipe in this case.
I plan to use a large specimen container for the inner box later.
Some reinforcement
Here is the set up with two 10g as the sump. Used an syphon tube of sorts to connect them. also more reinforcement on the sides and across the top.

one of the 10g broke when I was installing a baffle, so I bought a 20 long. installed some baffles and bubble trap.
running with the new 20 long.
sealed the stand inside and out with polyurethane. I also moved the skimmer on the outside of the sump to gain some room in there.
More to come soon, water , sand and rock to follow once I knock off a liquor store or two.
