Hey,

So I was looking at my coral yesterday and noticed it had this thing growing out of it. Anyone have any ideas as to what it is? Also when I turned my lights off last night it turned whiteish

Some kind of macro algae.

I know there's one kind that feeds off calcium that will turn white when the lights are out but the name is eluding me right now.

No it's not a invasive algae but it does use calcium so keep an eye on your levels if you have hard corals in the tank.

Ok so today when I was inspecting my tank I saw these things sticking out of the center of the zoa polyps. what is it?

Probably something out of Vietnam, there are some beautiful rocks chock full of zoas coming out of there right now.
