Tank move

Hey everyone. I have a 55 gallon sitting on a store bought stand upstairs in my FROG. It's been set up for what maybe 7 months. Well my father in law has cancer and won't make it too much longer so mom will be moving into the FROG when something happens.

With this said, I am moving my tank downstairs. Since I have a 30 gallon sump I am going to make a custom tank stand so I can get it under the stand.

I plan on fixing some newbie issues with the move. I'm going to trash the current sand and put in new. And actually put my LR on the glass and not the sand. I'm going to add 30 pounds of LR to the 60 pounds I have already.

I have containers, pumps, heaters to move fish reusing the current water. Any hints, suggestions, lessons learned?

I'm going to collect most of my water in a 4 foot cooler so I think I'll store the LR in it

The skimmer in the DT is a surface skimmer I believe.

Yes I hope it goes that easy <G> and yes it's a surface skimmer
