T5

Does anyone have any links to good reading on T5s? I am assuming that our general rule of thumb of watts per gallon doesn't aply to these. If they are cheaper than halides and can do the same job I'm all for it.

jermpool was wanting to use halides. One reason was because they do put off some heat. So that way he wouldn't, maybe, have to use more than one heater. Or do you think that he would still need more heaters for a 125g?

hehe i use two of those on my 100 gallon and i have to have a chiller.

HEHE no heater here.

What are the dimensions on your 100, length, width, depth?
Do you have the 150s or 250s?
Think I should go with 3 of the 250s?

mine is a 92 gallon corner to be exact.

I have two 250 watts. Pendants give you the ultimate flexibility if you ever decide to upgrade or change tanks in the future.

Just my 2 cents.

I like my T5s. My LFS only uses T5s (with the exception of a Solaris set-up for their main display tank, that's so they can try it out before they start selling it to customers). They keep all their SPS, clams, everything under the T5s and their displays and livestock are all very healthy. I don't think I'd trade mine in for halide.
