Stands

Anyone have any good experience both looks and $$ wise with ordering a stand/canopy combo from somewhere?

All the ones i can seem to find are either like $1500 or are mega ugly

Foster and smith have stands on sale right now, I just picked one up for my 75g for $120 plus free shipping. If you can't find any ou like you could always build one yourself, a lot of people have made some beautiful stands here

i gave them a look and the cheapest they had in the style i wanted (matched canopy with enclosed bottom for a sump) was $800 which isn't that bad but it had enclosed corners which i wasn't too fond of.

They did have what would have been a great option but the only size they have that you can choose is 30 gallons

You should check out LFSs in your areas. Most (if not all) of them will order stand/tank/canopy setups for a significantly lower price than buying it in a store. And you won't have to pay shipping.
