Reefing newb
Ive been wanting to go 150g or bigger for a while now. i was just waiting for the right deal on a set up. i plan on putting the set up togerher and up and running over the next few months. i wand to make sure im going int the right dirrection and get the minimum amount of equipment to get it up and running. I traded some old dj equipment for this set up....
-155 gallon bow front with dual built in over flows
-original stand (pretty beat up. Going to build my own)
-IWAKI 750gph return pump
-72" sunlight supply maristar fixture with 3 250w MHs (gave me one dual ballast but it is not working) Can these be repaired?
-about 100lbs of dry rock
-and about 50lbs of sand (doubt ill use it)
-All plumbing for the overflows and a bunch of other random accesories
I have a few questions about equipment but heres my plan. please critique and give me advice on my future set up.
BTW this will more than likely be a reef tank...
-either a 40g breeder or 55g sump with refugium ( depending on room in my custom stand)
-I plan on using the iwaki pump (as long as 750gph is sufficent)
will proboly hard plum the overflows and returns with ball valves (check valves a good idea?)
-going to buy 3 new ballasts if i can repair my current dual ballast (galaxy)
-40w UV serilizer
-going to get 5 stage brs ro/di system with tds
-800w jbj heater
-2 or 3 power heads ( not sure what sizes to use)
if i am missing anthting let me know and any recomendations or better ideas for my set up would be appreciated thanks soo much. will make build thread when i get going on the stand
