skimmer bubbly

So I've tried my new skimmer on every setting possible and it's still flooding my tank with micro-bubbles. The only way I can get it NOT to blow bubbles is to unplug the thing! It's not even trying. Any suggestions?

Im sorry for not knowing your background but what type of skimmer is it and are you running it in your sump or hob?

It's a coralife skimmer and it's in my sump. I just got it hooked up today.

do you have an extra baffle set up in your sump before your return pump? if not and its directly next to your return pump I actually had the same skimmer and the same problem. kinda ghetto fix but hell its in your sump. here is what i did, I slipped a poweraid bottle over the outlet (it was larger so it didnt plug it just directed flow into the bottle and forced it to go back up and out. secondly I wrapped the top with some batting fabric and rubberbanded it to the tube, this way the water went down into the bottle, back up and through the batting. took care of all my problems!

When my MSX was new , I used a media bag over the outlet tube and that knocked down the bubbles for me

Can you just add a baffle to your sump?
