Rock making skimmer go nuts

I added a good bit of live rock to my tank and not my skimmer is really pushing up the bubbles and basically filling my cup up with clear water. I turned it off for now to see if it has to settle some. I think maybe from stirring up the sand plus maybe something coming off the rock is causing an excess of bubbles and pushing out clear water? It's a Reef Octopus BH100.

It wasn't doing this before I put the rock in today and this skimmer has been running for four months now.

I'm guessing that adding the new rock in your tank raised your water level. Most Skimmers are set by the amount of air they take in and the level of water they sit in. So, you'll need to either take some water out till its back at its original level or adjust the skimmer till its working correctly again.

It's working well now. I plugged it back in after a couple hours and now it's back to normal. I think I stirred everything up a bit too much and it was getting sucked up in there. Got all my rock in both tanks now so things look lots better. I just need to get better at aquascaping ;)
