Protein Skimmer

The guy at the fish store said I didn't need a protein skimmer for a tank this small..But i'm pretty sure I need one right?

Isn't a protein skimmer pretty much a filter?

for a 25 gal, yes you need one.

I think it would be better to have one too. On a 10 gallon, no. You can manage it with water changes. I'm sure you could do the same on a 25 gallon but it would be more difficult and more effective with a skimmer and live rock.

+1 to all. I think you should definitely have a good skimmer on the tank. There are a variety of inexpensive, smaller skimmers out there.

what type would you reccomend. 20 Gal
I have a small 1 with airstone, seems pretty much useless.

I am guessing you do not have a sump with a 20g. The Remora is a pretty good skimmer for that size tank, and can hang on the back.
