Pink Dots

Hey everyone.

Still learning something every day which I love. Anyways, I've been getting these pink dots all over the glass of my DT. They are hard to scrub off and I'm not sure I need to. Any idea what it is and if I should just leave it?? Thank

Is it the same colour as the pink covering on some of your live rock? If so it's probably Coraline starting to grow on the glass.

Coraline algae. You'll need to use a razor blade. They even have these blades that attach to magnet cleaners. Very helpful. Ug, how I hate the pink dots.

It's kind of ugly all over the glass. Is it harmful or helpful?

Get it off while it is pink dots it will spread and only gets harder to get off as it gets thicker. Not harmful, but just a pain to remove.

I starting to see them all over the glass on my tank too.

It's not harmful or helpful. It's just coralline algae. Looks pretty on your rocks. Annoying on the glass. Comes in many different shades of pink, purple and reddish.
