Looks good to me! You may be pushing it with some of the more light-demanding animals, like clams and anemones, but you'll be good with everything else.

However, aren't 55 gallon tanks four feet long?

I have a 4' 35 watt or so metal halide and a 2' 65 watt florescent on my 5' tank. It's kind of lame... But of course I'm not keeping and photosynthesizers.

Just keep the less light demanding corals to the sides of the tank.

Also i bet you are going to need to buy new bulbs. They have to be replaced yearly anyways.

For my 240, (which was 7 feet long), I had a 6 foot light. That left 6" of space on either side, just like yours will have if you use that light. I did what Hannah said and just kept softies on the sides. They are fine with the lower light levels.
